WOODBURY, N.Y., February 18, 1993 -- Research Frontiers Incorporated announced today that it has appointed Joseph M. Harary to a newly-created position on its expanded Board of Directors. Mr. Harary, 31, is Research Frontiers' Vice President and General Counsel.

Research Frontiers is a technological leader in the development and licensing of light valves -- electrically operated light control devices using proprietary particle suspensions. These devices, where light transmission is electrically controllable instantly either automatically or by the user, include "smart" windows, variable light transmission eyewear and goggles, self-dimmable automotive sunroofs and rear-view mirrors, and flat panel information displays for use in computers, television, telephones and other electronic instruments. The Company currently has six license agreements in effect covering "smart" windows, eyewear, mirrors and displays with major corporations in the United States, Japan, Korea, Canada and Belgium.
